Our bees forage on wildflowers, fruit trees, clover and canola. The taste and colour of our honey varies with the season - floral and fruity in the spring, smooth and buttery in the summer. Our honey is never heated, never pasteurized, so it maintains all it's natural enzymes and health benefits. It's raw - as nature intended it.

We manage our bees and harvest our honey in a fashion that allows for clean hives, peaceful bees, and natural practices. The honey is extracted from fresh, clean honeycomb and lightly filtered, straight from the hive to you. We avoid, wherever possible, the use of chemicals, both in our hives, and on our land.
We also recognize the roles of pollinators that have been here long before us - that's why we're always planting forage for both our bees and the native bees, as well as other insects.
We offer both liquid honey, as well as comb honey. For those unfamiliar with comb honey, it's cut directly from the frame - wax and all. This is honey in it's purest form - straight from nature. It doesn't get much better than this. To enjoy it, either chew a piece of it like gum, or put a spoonful of it in your tea - the wax will melt, and you'll get all the health benefits of both the honey and the wax.

We are also in the process of developing other bee related products - beeswax items, t-shirts, honey dippers, etc. Check back for an online store soon.
ABOUT US - CRANEFOX HONEY
We are a husband and wife team of beekeepers, nature lovers, dog and cat enthusiasts, chicken parents, woodworkers, artists, and happy people. We strive to celebrate nature, treat it with respect, and support it however we can.

We began beekeeping out of a sheer interest in bees. We quickly realized we had a talent and love for it, and our honey was getting rave reviews from those that tried it. So what else was there to do but start up CRANEFOX honey.
​
The crane and fox, both animals with significance to us, is a partnership both between husband and wife, and between a couple, the bees, and nature.

We presently sell our honey direct to the consumer, with plans to sell it at various markets around Alberta.
